DE PEYRINIS, Lorenzo. - Minim religious, born in Genoa in 1587, died there on 3 August 1638. A distinguished canonist, specializing in the law of religious orders, and eminent in ascetical theology. At the college of Gesù e Maria (also known as S. Francesco di Paola) in Genoa, where he served as regent of studies and professor, he founded a highly esteemed library. At his death, a marble bust was erected in his honor.
Among his published works, the following stand out: *De religioso subdito et praelato*; *Formularium praelatorum regularium*, 3 vols. in folio, 2nd ed., Piacenza 1639; *Privilegia regularibus per immutos Pontifices concessa*, 3 tomes in folio, 2nd ed., Venice 1643; *Commentaria ascetica in Regulam FF. Ord. Minim.*, posthumous work, Genoa 1645.
