DE REBAPTISMATE. - Written around 256-57 against Cyprian in defense of the validity of Baptism conferred by heretics. The author, an African bishop, in defense of the Sacrament, relies on an erroneous distinction between the Baptism of water and a Baptism of the Spirit, the latter linked to the imposition of hands in Confirmation.
