Docking, Tommaso

DOCKING, TOMMASO. - Franciscan theologian, d. after 1269. His surname was Good, and he took his name from his native village in Norfolk. Between 1260 and 1265 he taught theology at the University of Oxford, as the seventh master of his Order.

He was primarily an exegete; several manuscripts in English libraries preserve his commentaries on Deuteronomy, Isaiah, the Letters of St. Paul (except Romans), and Quaestiones on St. Luke and Job. He makes frequent moral applications and shows a good knowledge of the natural sciences.
