(acts of the Council of Ingelheim of 948; a notitia provinciarum, a decree concerning the Truce of God); A quelle date est mort et Bernard de Menthon?, ibid., XXXI, there 1893, pp. 2-48; Le livre des cens de l'évêché d'Aoste (1305), ibid., XXXV, there 1897, pp. 139-89. The fruit and synthesis of forty years of archival research is the Histoire de l'Eglise d'Aoste, 10 vols., Aosta-St-Maurice 1901-15 (it is a detailed chronicle of the diocese from its origins to 1831). The treatment that goes from the origins to the 9th century (part of vol. I) is scientifically the least good; the rest of the work, despite its defects of method, is quite valuable.
