Eisler, Rudolf

EISLER, RUDOLF. - Philosopher, b. in Vienna on 7 Jan. 1873, d. there on 14 Dec. 1926. He completed his studies in Leipzig, where he carried on his activity as a scholar. He was the translator of various philosophical works. He was influenced by the thought of Kant and of the post-Kantian idealists.

Principal works: Die Beweis der Ausseewelt (Leipzig 1900); Einführung in d. Erkenntnistheorie (ibid. 1907); Geschichte der Monismus (ibid. 1910); Geist u. Körper (Göttingen 1912); Wörterbuch d. phil. Begriffe (3 vols., Berlin 1910, 4th ed. ibid. 1927-30); Philosophen-Lexikon (ibid. 1912).
