ÉTUDES CARMÉLITAINES. - Periodical
of the Discalced Carmelite
Fathers of France.
Founded as a quarterly
in February 1911
by Father Marie-Joseph
du Sacré-Cœur, and
directed by him until
the end of 1930. The
purpose of the journal
in this period
is defined by the sub-
title: E. C. hi-
storical and critical
on the traditions,
the privileges and the
mysticism of the Order.
Suspended from 1915 to 1919, because of the war. In 1931
(16th year) the editorship was entrusted to Father Bruno de Jésus-
Marie of the province of Paris. The subtitle was modi-
fied to E. C. mystical and missionary; the frequency
became half-yearly. From 1935 each issue is dedicated to the
study of a particular theme or problem of a psy-
chological-religious nature. Suspended again in 1940, publi-
cation was resumed in 1946 (25th year) with one or two
issues a year and without any subtitle. From 1947 the
journal is accompanied by a monographic series of the same
title and without fixed frequency. From 1936 E. C. ordinarily dedicates
each year one issue to the publication
of the studies of the "International Days of Religious Psychology", organized by it at Avon. Enrico Ravera
