FEDERATION OF EDUCATIONAL THEATRE ASSOCIATIONS (F.A.T.E.) - Its establishment was resolved in 1910 in Rome by the supreme Council of the Società della Gioventù Cattolica Italiana and it was constituted at the beginning of 1911 in an assembly of devotees of male theater in the hall of the circle "Religione e patria." President from its constitution until its dissolution was comm. prof. Vincenzo Prinzivalli.
Purpose: to carry out work parallel to the youth Circles in the theatrical field. In fifteen years of life it promoted various competitions of Catholic plays, of writers "pro teatro educativo," culminating in participation in the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Società della Gioventù Cattolica Italiana with a prize competition. A representative of the F.A.T.E. was an ex officio member of the supreme Council of the Gioventù cattolica. The organ of the F.A.T.E., national in character, was the illustrated monthly periodical, published in Rome, Teatro nativo, which had its life in 1911, inheriting the periodical previously published in VicenzaTeatro musica e sport. Its director was the same president of the F.A.T.E. It suspended publication in 1925.
The F.A.T.E. ceased its activity in 1926, forced to do so by the provisions issued by the Partito nazionale fascista which created the O.N.D. (Opera nazionale dopolavoro) as the sole recreational body.
