FEDERICO di GESÙ (JOANNES MARTIN SCHELLHORN). – Theologian, born on 6 November 1721 in Munich, Bavaria, died on 16 October 1788 in Augsburg. On 24 May 1741 he made his religious profession among the Discalced Carmelites; he taught canon law in the Order’s colleges and subsequently theology and exegesis, and was an excellent preacher. Several times he was prior and provincial of Bavaria.
He wrote: Quaestiones sucrue in utilitatem concionatorum explanator (Augsburg 1774); Universa theologia moralis tripartita (ibid. 1780); Lexicon Scripturisticum (ibid. 1782); Lexicon theologicum (ibid. 1784).
