FERRERO, BENIGNA CONSOLATA. - Mystic, b. in Turin on 6 Aug. 1885, d. in Como on 1 Sept. 1916. She entered at the age of 22 the monastery of the Visitation of St. Mary in Como, where she died after about 7 years of religious profession.

She left a great many writings, which represent, for the most part, frequent communications that she is said to have had from God, from some time before her entry into the monastery until her death. These colloquies would seem to be reducible to "prayer of repose."
