DAUGHTERS OF THE MOST HOLY AND IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY (Gerona). - Institute founded in Olot (diocese of Gerona) in 1848 by the priest Gioacchino Masmitja under the Augustinian Rule, which received the decree of praise on 20 February 1893. On 14 December 1901, under the urgency of the feared eversive laws, it was provisionally approved. Approval of the constitutions came on 21 January 1907.

The Institute devotes itself to the instruction and Christian education of young girls. In 1949 it had 32 houses and 316 sisters.
