DAUGHTERS OF THE MOST HOLY SAVIOR OF POSONIO (Timavia). - The Congregation is a branch of the Institute of the Sisters of the Most Holy Savior, founded in Alsace in 1849. From that Institute the Austrian branch of the Daughters of the Divine Savior broke away in 1866, and from that branch in 1916 the primacy of Hungary detached the Congregation of the Daughters of the Most Holy Savior of P. The new Congregation obtained the decree of praise on 6 July 1932, together with the temporary approval of the constitutions, which were then definitively approved on 11 May 1942.

The Congregation, born in times of war, suffered greatly from the circumstances of time and place, but never failed in the purpose for which it had been erected: care of the sick both in hospitals and at home; education of youth, boarding houses for women, making of sacred vestments.

At the end of 1942 the sisters numbered 534, with 32 houses.
