DAUGHTERS OF CHRIST THE KING (Granada). – Religious institute founded in Granada on 26 May 1876 by Canon G. Gras Granollers. It received the decree of praise on 15 February 1898 and definitive approval on 16 August 1901. The constitutions, inspired by Augustinian spirituality, were approved on 4 December 1906 and definitively on 12 July 1944.
The particular aim of the Institute is to foster special devotion to the kingship of Christ and to provide a solidly Christian education for young women in boarding schools, workhouses, and Sunday schools.
In 1948 it had 30 houses and 300 sisters.
