DAUGHTERS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY OF SORROWS. – A religious institute of the Third Order of S. Francis, founded at Zakrazin (Poland) in 1881 through the work of Fr. Onorato da Biala, Capuchin, and Lucia Szewczyk, for the education of poor youth and for the care of the sick in hospitals. Approved by the Holy See in 1909, it now has 43 houses with more than 500 religious.
