DAUGHTERS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY OF MERCY. – A religious congregation founded at Palma, diocese of Majorca, in 1856 through the efforts of the priest Gabriele Maria Ribas and his sister Giuseppina, for the religious and civil education of youth and the home care of the sick. In 1937 it was approved by the Holy See and today numbers 70 houses with more than 300 religious.
