DAUGHTERS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY OF MERCY. – A religious congregation founded at Pina, in the diocese of Majorca, in 1856 through the efforts of the priest Gabriele Maria Ribas and his sister Giuseppa, for the religious and civic education of young people and the home care of the sick. It was approved by the Holy See in 1937 and today numbers 70 houses with more than 500 religious.
