DAUGHTERS OF OUR LADY OF MERCY. – Institute founded at Savona in 1837 by St. Mary Giuseppa Rossello under the guidance of Bishop Mons. Agostino De Mari, for the instruction and education of the children of the people, for the exercise of works of charity and assistance, in elementary and secondary schools, boarding schools, orphanages, prisons, and homes for the elderly. They currently have 263 houses with 3,830 religious.
