FOGLIANTINE. — Il de la Barrière also founded a female branch of the same Rule of the Feuillants (v.); the first monastery arose at Montesquieu-Volvestre in 1588 and was transferred to Toulouse in 1599, where Antonietta di Orléans entered. Anna di Austria, wife of Luigi XIII, founded another in Paris in 1622. In Rome, Sixtus IV gave the nuns the monastery of S. Vito ad Lunam, later transferred, under Sixtus V, to S. Susanna.
