Brothers of Penance of the Third Order of Saint Francis

BROTHERS OF PENANCE OF THE THIRD ORDER OF SAN FRANCESCO. – In 1866, the priest Francesco Maria Clausade wished to restore the regular Third Order in France and promote the apostolate in the parishes, establishing this congregation of missionaries dedicated to missions among the faithful. He founded a house at Notre-Dame de la Drèche, near Albi (France). Approved by the Holy See in 1873, the Congregation currently has 6 houses with 52 brothers.
