THIRD REGULAR ORDER OF PENANCE OF SAN FRANCESCO D'ASSISI. — Founded at Albi on 7 June 1866 by the priest Francesco M. Clausade for preaching missions.
It consists of clerics and lay brothers, and has 7 houses, 5 of them in France and 2 in Mato Grosso (Brazil), while the religious number only 58. It received the decree of praise from the Holy See on 22 January 1873. The Constitutions were approved temporarily on 12 June 1928 and definitively on 19 May 1936. The mother house is at Albi.
