Terrabugio, Giuseppe

TERRABUGIO, GIUSEPPE. - Musician, b. at Fiera di Primiero on 13 May 1842, d. there on 30 Jan. 1933.

He studied at Padua and then perfected his training at Munich with Reinberger. Having settled in Milan, in 1883 he founded there the journal Musica sacra, which he edited for 40 years, fighting tenaciously for the reform of sacred music. He was a teacher of organ at the Scuola superiore di Musica sacra and left a great number of church compositions remarkable from the contrapuntal standpoint and always lofty and noble in inspiration.
