GUARDIAN ADORERS OF THE EUCHARIST, Known As Soeurs De Saint-aignan. - A female religious institute, founded in 1853 by Msgr. Dupanloup, bishop of Orléans. On Nov. 15, 1892 it received the decree of praise and on March 15, 1897 that of approval.

The constitutions, approved on a trial basis in 1901 and definitively on Aug. 28, 1908, were confirmed to the Code and approved in 1924.

The special purpose of the Institute is the adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist; but the sisters also devote themselves to the education of youth, and to the care of and assistance to the poor sick, the needy and the destitute.

In 1947 the sisters numbered 140, distributed among 8 houses.
