GIUSEPPINE DELLA CARITÀ (VICH)

GIUSEPPINE DELLA CARITÀ (Vich). - They were founded at Vich on June 29, 1877 by the servant of God Caterina Corominas y Agustín with the help of some priests and the approval of the diocesan Ordinary.

The decree of praise and of temporary approval of the Constitutions is dated Nov. 30, 1924; the definitive approval of the Constitutions and of the Institute came on July 3, 1934. The special purpose of the Institute is the care and assistance of the sick at home and in hospitals. For some years the sisters have also been employed in kitchen and laundry service in seminaries.

In 1946 the sisters numbered 232, distributed among 24 houses.
