GIUSEPPINE DELLA CARITÀ (Vich). – They were founded in Vich on 29 June 1877 by the Servant of God Caterina Corominas y Agustín, with the help of several priests and the approval of the diocesan Ordinary.
The decree of praise and temporary approval of the Constitutions is dated 30 November 1924; definitive approval of the Constitutions and of the Institute was granted on 3 July 1934. The special purpose of the Institute is the care and assistance of the sick in their homes and in hospitals. For several years the sisters have also been employed in kitchen and laundry services in seminaries.
In 1946 the sisters numbered 232, distributed among 24 houses.
GIUSEPPINE DELLA S.MA TRINITÀ (Placencia). – They originated in 1886 through the work of the penitentiary of the cathedral of Placencia, R. Eladio Mozas Santamera, with the approval of the diocesan Ordinary. He initially gathered in a house some women who lived in community, working in a holy manner. When their number increased, they moved to another house, now the generalate of the Institute, where on 18 February 1886 they received the religious habit and the Institute began its juridical existence.
The Constitutions, inspired by the Augustinian tradition, were approved by the Ordinary in 1886 and definitively in 1903. In 1933 the Institute received the decree of praise and temporary approval of the Constitutions, which were definitively approved on 28 June 1943.
GIUSEPPINE DELLA S.MA TRINITÀ – JUSTIFICATION
In 1949 the sisters numbered 144, distributed among 20 houses. The sisters are engaged in instruction and education in schools, boarding schools, and nursery schools, and in caring for the sick in hospitals, which they direct and in which they serve.
