«HAEC EST DIES QUA CANDIDAE». — It is the hymn of Lauds in the Office of s. Teresa di Gesù: the author is unknown; but the hymn appears for the first time in the Office of the Saint, printed in 1629 (K. Kastner, Praktischer Brevier-Kommentar, II, Breslavia 1924, p. 307).
The author is evidently inspired by the passage of Cant. 4:8: «Veni de Libano, sponsa mea, veni de Libano, coronaberis».
