“HAEC EST DIES QUA CANDIDAE.” — This is the hymn for Lauds in the Office of St Teresa of Jesus. Its author is unknown, but the hymn first appears in the Office of the Saint printed in 1629 (K. Kastner, Praktischer Brevier-Kommentar, II, Breslau 1924, p. 307).
The author clearly drew inspiration from Cant. 4:8: “Veni de Libano, sponsa mea, veni de Libano, coronaberis.”
