HAN, ULDERICO. - German printer, native of Ingolstadt, d. in Rome before 1480. His activity was carried on in Rome from 1467 to 1471, then from that year until 1474 in association with Simone Cardella, and thereafter again alone between the years 1475-78; more than 60 editions are attributed to him.
Among them is the small book Méditations by Cardinal Giovanni da Torquemada (Turrecremata), dated 31 Dec. 1467, the first book with illustrations printed in Italy, of which only 4 copies are known in the public libraries of Manchester, Madrid, Vienna, and Nuremberg. He also signed his editions with the Latinized surname Gallus and with the appellation Barbatus.
