HURTADO, PEDRO de MENDOZA. – Theologian and philosopher of the Society of Jesus, born in 1578 at Valmaseda, died on 16 November 1615 at Madrid. He taught philosophy and theology at Salamanca.
He wrote Disputationes a summulis ad metaphysicam (Valladolid 1615; Lyon 1617 under the title Disputationes de universa philosophia; other subsequent editions); Disputationes de Deo homine vivo de incarnatione filii Dei (Antwerp 1634). Other works remain unpublished. In theology and philosophy he follows the Suarezian school.
