IABEL (Hebr. Jābhāl; Greek 'Iωβῆλ). — Cainite, son of Lamech and Ada. He was the first to initiate the life of the nomadic livestock herder (Gen. 4:20). This is the primary patriarchal culture of the Altaic, Indo-European, and Hamito-Semitic peoples.
