IAM SOL RECEDIT IGNEUS. - Hymn at Vespers on Saturday, by an unknown author, belonging to the "Irish-Anglo-Saxon" group.

With the fading of the daylight and the onset of darkness, the Christian turns to the one and triune God, the everlasting light that enlightens every man who comes into the world. There are two simple stanzas that sing of already familiar themes, but presented anew in a beautiful and nimble form.
