Iesu Redemptor Omnium

IESU REDEMPTOR OMNIUM. - Hymn of Lauds in the Office of the Common of confessor pontiffs, in which the merits of the Saint whose feast is being celebrated are extolled in a generic manner. It is by an unknown author and dates back to ca. the 10th century.

Its fundamental theme is contempt for earthly goods in order to win eternal life. A scarcity of color and movement is noteworthy.
