IESUA. — Name of several biblical figures.
Besides a son (Heb. Jâšâh, Vulg. Iesua) of the patriarch Aser (Gen. 46:17; Num. 26:44; I Par. 7:30), the name Jâšâh (Vulg. Iesua) was borne by a priest entrusted with the ninth division of service in the Temple (I Par.
24:11), a Levite in the time of King Ezechia (II Par. 31:15; Iesue), and a Levite who returned from Babylon together with Zorobabel (Neh. 12:8). Angelo Penna
