IRÉNIKON. — Quarterly journal, published from 1926 (from 1941 to 1945 replaced by several issues under the title: Questions sur l'Eglise et son unité, published in Gembloux) by the Benedictines of the priory of Amay-Chevetogne (Belgium).
Its aim is to work for the return to the Catholic Church of separated Christians, especially the Eastern “Orthodox.” By giving dissidents, on the one hand, an exact and clear idea of Catholic doctrine and, on the other, making Catholics more fully aware of the authentically Christian values preserved also in “Orthodoxy” and Protestantism, I. seeks to promote a current of mutual sympathy that will prepare the way for the return of the various Christian groups at the hour willed by Providence. Each issue contains an extensive bibliography and a chronicle of ecumenical events.
