IRÉNIKON. - A quarterly review, published since 1926 (from 1941 to 1945 replaced by a few issues under the title: Questions sur l'Eglise et son unité, published at Gembloux) by the Benedictines of the priory of Amay-Chevetogne (Belgium).

Its purpose is to work for the return to the Catholic Church of separated Christians, especially of the "Orthodox" Easterners. By giving the dissidents, on the one hand, an exact and clear idea of Catholic doctrine and, on the other hand, by making Catholics better acquainted with the authentically Christian values preserved also in "Orthodoxy" and in Protestantism, I. seeks to promote a current of mutual sympathy that may prepare the ground for the return of the different Christian groups at the hour willed by Providence. Each issue contains an extensive bibliography and a chronicle of ecumenical events.
