MARIANUM. - A journal of Mariology published under the auspices of the theological faculty of the same name of the Servites of Mary, founded in 1939 by Fr. M. Roschini.
The M. deals scientifically with every question that can relate to the Madonna, whether under the theological aspect (understood in the broadest sense), or from the literary, artistic, historical, and folkloristic point of view.
The periodical, a quarterly, in issues of about 150 pages, has the following sections: articles, that is, monographs of greater importance; documents of the ecclesiastical magisterium, both pontifical and episcopal; miscellany, brief notes and discussions; a chronicle of events of a cultural character; reviews and current bibliography. The M. counts among its contributors all the principal Mariologists of the world; the articles may be written in Latin, Italian, French, English, German and Spanish: always, however, a summary in Latin is prefixed.
The M. is completed by an annual supplement in Italian and of a popular character: Ragguaglio mariano, begun in 1946, which offers a panorama of the many and varied forms with which Christian piety honors the Madonna.
