O NIMIS FELIX MERITIQUE CELSI. - It is the third part of the hymn of the Office for the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, composed by Paul the Deacon, and it is sung at Lauds.
In it the exalted merits of the Baptist continue to be enumerated in the first two stanzas; then the poet turns to him in devout prayer that the Saint may direct our steps and smooth for us the way toward the heavenly homeland.
