PALESTINE EXPLORATION QUARTERLY. – Journal of the English association “Palestine Exploration Fund,” founded in London in 1865 to promote the geographical, archaeological, and topographical study of Palestine, particularly of Jerusalem.
In 1869 it began publishing Palestine exploration fund. Quarterly statement, which rendered outstanding service, especially in the field of archaeology, by disseminating the results of the numerous excavations carried out in the Holy Land. In 1929 the journal also incorporated the bulletin of the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem (The bulletin of the British School). The present title, specified by the subtitle “Emboiding the Quarterly statement of the Palestine Exploration Fund and the Bulletin of the British School,” first appeared in 1939.
