PALESTINE EXPLORATION QUARTERLY

PALestine EXPLORATION QUARTERLY. – Journal of the English association “Palestine Exploration Fund,” founded in 1865 in London to promote the geographical, archaeological and topographical study of Palestine, especially of Jerusalem.

From 1869 it began publishing Palestine Exploration Fund. Quarterly statement, which proved most meritorious, particularly in archaeology, by disseminating the results of numerous excavations carried out in the Holy Land. In 1929 the journal also incorporated the bulletin of the English School of Archaeology in Jerusalem (The Bulletin of the British School). The current title, specified by the subtitle “Embodied by the Quarterly statement of the Palestine Exploration Fund and the Bulletin of the British School,” first appeared in 1939.
