PANATTIERI, MADDALENA, beata. - Dominican tertiary, b. at Trino Vercellese in 1443, d. there on 13 Oct. 1503.

From childhood she made a vow of virginity. In the convent of Trino, to whose reform she contributed (1490), she was distinguished for her charity toward her neighbor, especially sinners, and for her love of the passion of Jesus and of the Eucharist. She had the gift of prophecy and of miracles. She is the special patroness of her city, which still preserves a lively cult of her, confirmed by Leo XII on 26 Sept. 1827. Feast on 13 Oct.
