PAULINUS of PELLA. – A Christian poet, probably the grandson of the poet Ausonius, born in 376 at Pella in Macedonia, died shortly after 460 in southern France.

From the age of three he lived in Bordeaux. After suffering great reverses of fortune following the invasion of 406 and the sack of his city by the Goths in 412, he converted in 421.
