Pembroke, Diocese of. — In the province of Ontario, Canada. On 11 July 1882, Leo XIII established the Apostolic Vicariate of Pontiac, which was raised to the status of a diocese by the bull *Cum ex hac Beati Petri Cathedra* of 4 May 1898. The Diocese of P. is a suffragan of Ottawa.
