LITTLE SERVANTS OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS. - Religious institute founded in Kraków in 1894 by Canon G. Sebastian Pelzar, later bishop of Przemyśl.

Its purpose is to spread devotion to the Sacred Heart and to provide for the material and spiritual needs of domestic servants, working women and the poor who are sick. The Institute was approved by the Ordinary on 23 Dec. 1906. On 14 Feb. 1909 it obtained the decree of praise and on 17 March 1912 that of approval of the Constitutions, which were then definitively confirmed on 30 Jan. 1923. Before 1939 they had 52 houses with 554 sisters; today their exact number is unknown.
