Little Sisters of the Sick

LITTLE SISTERS OF THE SICK. - Founded by the priest G. B. Sevres and Gabriella Adele Raoux, at Mauriac (diocese of Saint-Flour) in 1860.

The purpose is the care of the sick at home, assisting them and preparing them for a good death, and also helping their families with household chores. Approved by the bishop in 1886, the Holy See issued the decree of praise on 18 April 1910, approved the Constitutions temporarily in 1934 and definitively on 26 January 1946. At present the sisters number 280, with 58 houses.
