Small Sisters of the Sick. — Founded by Fr G. B. Sevres and Gabriella Adele Raoux at Mauriac (diocese of St-Flour) in 1860.
Their aim is to care for the sick in their homes, attending them and preparing them to die well, and also assisting their families with domestic work. Approved by the bishop in 1886, the Holy See gave the decree of praise on 8 Apr. 1910, temporarily approved their Constitutions in 1934 and definitively on 26 Jan. 1946. At present there are 280 sisters in 58 houses.
