Florus was the first to introduce him into the Martyrology, and he is commemorated on 21 January. St DENYS, bishop of Corinth (160–70), writing to the Church of Athens, reproached those faithful because after the death of P. they had become very lax in Christian life. He was succeeded in the episcopate by QUADRATUS, to be distinguished from the like-named apologist.
