QUEZALTENANGO, DIOCESI di. — Diocese of the Republic of Guatemala in South America, suffragan of the archdiocese of Guatemala.
It has an area of 25,149 sq km and a population of 1,018,079 inhabitants, of whom 700,000 are Catholics; 35 parishes with 10 diocesan priests and 27 religious; 5 male and 3 female religious communities (Ann. Pont., 1952, p. 332).
The diocese was erected by Benedict XV on 27 July 1921 under the name of Los Altos and published only on 3 August 1928.
