RAUS, JEAN-BAPTISTE. — Moral theologian and canonist, born at Aspelt (Luxembourg) on 17 January 1881, died in Rome on 11 August 1943. Having entered the Redemptorists, he made his profession there in 1901 and was ordained a priest in 1906. He was professor of canon law, sociology, and the history of philosophy at the scholasticate of Echternach and, from 1924, general archivist of the Congregation.
He wrote works of an archival nature, but especially on moral theology and law. Among the former: Der Heil. Alfons V.
