REVISTA ECLESIASTICA BRASILEIRA. — Among the theological journals of Latin America that have emerged in recent times—such as Christus (Mexico), Ciencia y Fe (S. Miguel, F. C. P., Argentina), Estudios (Santiago de Chile), Ecclesiastica Xaveriana (Bogotá), Revista bíblica con sección litúrgica (published at Villa Calzada, Argentina), Revista de teología (La Plata, Argentina), and others—it is not only the most voluminous but also the most important.
It is “made by the clergy for the clergy,” at once scholarly and practical; in addition to theological articles and reviews, it devotes considerable space to various ecclesiastical “documentations.” The journal has appeared without interruption from vol. 1 (1941). The editorial office was originally located with the Franciscans of the convent of S. António in Rio de Janeiro; it later moved to their convent in Petrópolis, where it has always been published by Vozes.
