«SUMMAE PARENS CLEMENTIAE». — Hymn of the Matins on Saturday, of unknown authorship. It is found in manuscripts from the 9th century (G. M. Dreves and C. Blume, Anal. hymn., LI, Leipzig 1912, p. 50).
The poet addresses divine goodness, entreating it to accept the prayers of His children and grant them purity of heart, the only thing that can ensure the joys of divine love, and to quench the ardor of the senses.
