« SUMMAE PARENS CLEMENTIAE ». – Hymn of Matins on Saturday, by an unknown author. It is found in ninth-century manuscripts (G. M. Dreves and C. Blume, Anal. hymn., LI, Leipzig 1912, p. 50).
The poet addresses divine goodness, asking it to receive the prayers of its children and grant them purity of heart, the only thing that can assure them the joys of divine love, and to extinguish the ardor of the senses.
