"SPLENDOR PATERNAE GLORIAE." - Hymn of Lauds for Monday, composed by St. Ambrose.

The light of day dazzles the poet and carries him to that spiritual light, to Christ, the splendor of eternal glory, and to him he raises devout prayer that from the Father he may obtain the grace of perseverance in good, the flight from sin and purity of thought.
