TE SPLENDOR ET VIRTUS PATRIS

« TE SPLENDOR ET VIRTUS PATRIS ». — Hymn of Vespers and Matins for the feast of s. Michele Arcangelo, by an unknown author, but certainly inspired by the Tibi Christe splendor Patris of Rabano Mauro.

It is an ode to Christ, the splendour and glory of the Father, surrounded by myriads of angels led by s. Michele, who defeated the enemy and confined him to hell together with the other rebellious angels. May he now spur us on and sustain us in order to obtain the prize of victory.
