“TU NATALE SOLIUM PROTEGE.” — Hymn at Lauds in the Office of St Martina, composed by Urban VIII. It continues the “Martinae celebri” (v.).
It is a prayer to the Roman martyr that she may defend the native soil from the pressing Islamic peril threatening Christian peoples. May all princes unite under the banner of the Cross to vanquish the enemies of Christ.
