Theodore II, Pope

TEODORO II, POPE. – Elected in November 897, he died approximately three weeks later.

Before dying, however, he had time to vindicate the memory of Pope Formoso, recognizing the validity of the Ordinations he had performed in Rome and giving his corpse, cast up on the bank of the Tiber by a rise in the river, a worthy burial beside the remains of his predecessors.
