**TOWNSVILLE, Diocese of.** — It is situated in the central-northern region of the State of Queensland (Australia).
It was erected on 12 February 1930, with territory taken from the Diocese of Rockhampton, and declared a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
