He was enthroned in the Basilica of the Lateran and consecrated at St. Peter's. The *Liber Pontificalis* extols the virtues that won him the affection of the Romans. He distinguished himself, in fact, by his affability, learning, and remarkable memory. Unfortunately, such a worthy Pope reigned for only 40 days or barely a month, according to the *Annales* attributed to Eginhard. Jaffé cites no letters issued from his Chancery.
