VIGILIAE CHRISTIANAE. — Quarterly
published in 1947, issued by the North-Holland Publishing Company of Amsterdam, to investigate
the life and language of ancient Christians.
It undertakes “historical, cultural, linguistic,
philological” research on Christian literature in the broadest sense,
also studying Christian epigraphy and archaeology; however, it does
not concern itself with patristic theology and ancient church history as such. It stands out for the number and varied nationality
of its contributors, although until recently it excluded contributions in languages other than English, French, and Latin.
