ZECHRI

ZECHRI (Heb. Zihhrī). - Name of several figures of the Old Testament.

1. A Levite, son of Izhar (Ex. 6:21).
2. Members of the tribe of Benjamin residing in Jerusalem (1 Chr. 8:19, 23, 27).
3. One of the guardians of the Temple treasury under David (ibid. 26:25).
4. An Ephraimite of the time of Ahaz (v.), who during the victorious war of Pekah (v.) killed Maaseiah the king's son, Azrikam the governor of the palace, and Elkanah, who was the second authority in the land after the king (2 Chr. 28:7).
